Patrick Torrekens
Head of Enterprise Ireland BeNeLux
Since 2008, Patrick Torrekens has worked with Irish SMEs helping them accessing international markets. As a market adviser in the BeNeLux office (based in Brussels), he had a particular focus on the broad ICT sector, Enterprise solutions and professional services. In August 2016 Patrick became head of the BeNeLux team working with colleagues in the Amsterdam and Brussels offices on a wide variety of sectors (High-tech construction, Med-Tech, Digital, ...)
Before joining Enterprise Ireland Patrick held various senior marketing and business development positions at telecom service providers (Orange, BT), IT companies (L&H speech technology, Wang computers) and HR service providers (SD Worx). For Mobistar (Orange subsidiary in Belgium) he was member of the team that launched the Initial Public Offering for the company in 2000.
Patrick holds a master degree Interpreter English-Spanish from Hogeschool Gent, completed with various business courses at Ichec Brussels (B-to-B Marketing), Tias Nimbas business school – The Netherlands (Strategy and Leadership) and Negotiation skills (Vlerick business school). Patrick is business proficient in Dutch (mother tongue), French, English and Spanish with good notions of German. Patrick is a Belgian citizen living in Ghent, Belgium with frequent travels to Ireland and The Netherlands.
